Review: SkinChemists Rose Illuminating Rose Peel-Off Mask
I tried this Rose Illuminating peel off mask and think it works really good. It also smells so good. If you've been a reader for a while, you know that I've tried a lot of masks of all kinds over the years and think that they don't do much except make my skin feel soft after using them. This one is good because not only does it make my skin feel soft but it also got rid of the oil that seems to accumulate on my forehead by the end of the day. I really like the scent of this too. I love anything that smells like roses and I'm pretty sure that I've told you guys that before. Some peel off masks are hard to get off and hurt your face when trying to peel them off. This is not one of those. This is more like one of those gentle cucumber peel off masks that I've used before. I like that it took all the dirt and leftover makeup still on my face that the makeup remover didn't get off too.

Apartment life #234
This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that go on in and around my apartment complex in the past 22 years that we've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 22 years here in a weekly blog post.
A few apartments from me but still in my courtyard there was a fight between the brother that lives in this apartment and the drug addict brother who sleeps outside in the corner by his apartment door. I've talked about them before. The brother won't let the drug addict brother come inside because he steals from him and does stuff like this, breaking windows (3rd time). But the brother who lives there lets him sleep outside and gives him blankets and food. So they got into a fight probably about money again and the drug addict brother broke out the window again.
Maintenance came the next day and put cardboard on the window until it can be fixed. The manager charged him $80 for the new window last time. I wonder if she will charge him another $80 this time too.
While we haven't had a manager on site for a year, I found out through the resident portal that we pay our rent through that there is now an email address for the manager at another property if we have problems here. So at last we can now get in touch with someone if we need to.
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

I also wanted to let you know that I'm now selling handmade earrings on Ebay. All of the earrings are handmade by me.
Here's a couple of pictures of what I'm selling...
If you would like to see all of my listings, you can find them here. Thanks for taking a look.

Review: The Black Lily by Juliette Cross
Book Description
With the threat of the vampire monarchy becoming stronger every day, the Black Lily must take drastic measures. As the leader of the underground resistance, Arabelle concocts the perfect idea to gain the attention of the Glass Tower. Her plan? Attend the vampire prince’s blood ball and kill him. Fortunately for Prince Marius, her assassination goes awry, and Arabelle flees, leaving behind only her dagger.
Marius is desperate to find the woman whose kiss turned into attempted murder, hunting for the mysterious assassin he can’t push out of his mind. But what he uncovers could change the course of his life forever...
My Review
Arabelle was tired of waiting along with the other humans where she lived, to be called to the Glass Tower to be a bleeder to the vampires that ruled them. So she comes up with a plan to kill the Prince. Only problem is, things don't go the way she was hoping and now she's on the run.
Prince Marius is surprised that a human girl tries to kill him but is even more surprised by how kissing her made him feel. Now he wants only to find her but will he kill her when he finds her?
Arabelle didn't realize it but Prince Marius wasn't one of those throat ripping, rabid vampires leaving dead bodies in the fields. While some vampires were leaving dead humans with their blood drained, in fields and other places to be found, Marius did not condone this at all. Arabelle thought all vampires were the same and if the prince was dead then maybe things would get better. But Prince Marius knew something was wrong when some of the servants start acting terrified of him so he is hoping to get some answers at the Ball.
The Ball doesn't go as planned for Marius or Arabelle and after attempting to kill him, she's now on the run but you can't run from vampires. It's a good thing that Marius isn't as bad as she thinks he is because she never would have had the chance to get close to him not once but three times and escape all three times. Of course Marius might be feeling more than anger as he starts to get to know her and understand why she did what she did.
Things aren't as Marius always thought they were and now that his eyes are opened to see that things for the humans really aren't as good as he had thought, he can never go back living the way his royal parents want him to. When Marius starts to discover what's really going on at the palace, he may never be the same again. This story had so many twists that I never saw coming but made the story so fun to read.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Freebie Friday!
Welcome to another weekly Freebie Friday post, where I tell you what free samples and full sized products I received in the mail and how you can get them too. Someone asked me why I do a "Freebie Friday" each week, so I'll tell you.
A while back I listed all the free samples and wins that I had received that previous year and so many people didn't believe that I could have gotten so many free things. So I decided to prove it by taking a picture every week and sharing the sites that I found the links to the freebies at. So now you too can get great free samples coming to your mailbox each week.
You can find links to great samples at Hey It's Free and Freebie Shark.
What I got:
Osteo Bi-Flex from Walmart Spark Reviewer.
Benefit Porefessional Super Setter Setting Spray from Influenster.
Macy's perfume samples. FB promotion.
I won a Goodreads Kindle ebook. Giveaway.
I don't have a link for the Walmart Spark Reviewer because you have to be invited by them to join. But I think the Osteo Bi-Flex is helping my joints little bit. I have Osteoarthritis in both my knee's and hips so I'm in some sort of pain all the time and this does seem to help just a little.
I love the Setting spray I was sent from Influenster. It's a good one. Some of the Macy's perfume samples were for me so not really my thing but one of them was really nice for me and it smelled really good.
I can always use another ebook. Enter those Goodreads giveaways. You can't win if you don't enter.
Did you receive any freebies this week?

Review: Clean Perfume
Last month I ordered the sampling kit from Clean Perfume because I already loved the Rain scent and wanted to see if I liked the other scents. Well I do. The scents I received were:
Warm Cotton
Skin
Rain
Radiant Nectar
Flower Fresh
Acqua Neroli
A couple of years ago I bought 3 little roll-on tubes of perfume from this brand, it was Warm Cotton, Rain and Skin. I loved these scents so much that I would go and find the gift set every year right before Christmas for myself. Then this year I saw that I could get a sampling kit from them that had a couple of other scents in it so I bought that and I'm so glad I did because they all smell so good.
These all smell so good that I cannot pick a favorite but this is my favorite perfume brand for sure. Have you ever tried this brand or smelled this perfume? Do you have a favorite perfume?

Review: Aegir: A Beserker Warrior Romance by Lee Savino
Book Description
The only daughter of an Irish chieftain has one purpose and one alone: marry well. But on the eve of my wedding, I’m stolen away on a ghostly ship by a warrior trapped in time.
Legend tells of a Sea Wolf who must sail the northern seas until he finds the woman who can break his curse and lead him home.
The legend is real. The Sea Wolf has come for me.
Ægir (a Berserker novella) is a standalone fantasy romance novella starring a huge dominant warrior and the woman he will claim as his own. Formerly titled The Sea Wolf, it was available for a few months in the Pirates, Passion and Plunder boxset.
My Review
Muireann is on a little boat about to go to her intended and get married. She doesn't even like the guy she's about to marry but she has no choice or her home and family could be destroyed. She is also more than she appears which was a fun twist to see come about.
The Sea Wolf was cursed to sail the sea until he finds his mate who can lift the curse for him. He cannot set foot on land or he becomes a rampaging beast.
On the way to get married her boat is approached by a much bigger ship. The Sea Wolf and his crew take Muireann but things go wrong right from the very beginning. Not realizing that the Sea Wolf cannot die, she tries to kill him only to have him laugh at her attempt which I found funny. They find a way to communicate even though he cannot speak for some reason and she remembers a story that her mother told her and starts to believe that she belongs with him.
While this story was not without its drama and relationship problems, it also had me smiling once it got past the halfway point because the Sea Wolf really cared about her and it showed.
This story was a quick novella of just 76 pages but I really enjoyed the story and especially the ending.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Review: Healing Her Wolf by Zoe Chant
Book Description
A curious vet + a wounded werewolf + some tender loving care = one sexy, sizzling story
For vet Maddy Petersen, there’s no better way to spend her Friday night than taking care of an injured animal. When she gets a call to pick up a wounded, feral dog, she’s not sure what surprises her more: that it’s actually a wolf, or how friendly it is once it sees her. Actually, the biggest surprise might just be the hunky, naked guy it turns into…
Konrad Stone was looking for his mate so he could become Alpha for the wolf shifters in his hometown. He’ll be damned if one of his useless cousins takes the position instead. Meeting Maddy is a dream come true – although he never imagined it would involve being led around on a catchpole.
Neither of them can deny the instant, mutual passion between them, and Konrad can’t wait to spend the rest of his life with her in his hometown. But can he convince Maddy that love at first sight is real?
This is a standalone werewolf romance. No cliffhangers!
My Review
Konrad and a couple of his cousins leave their homes in search of their mates. In order to try and claim the alpha spot and be the leader, they have to have a mate and bring her back to live there. But before he can actually find his mate, another wolf attacked him and left him injured. Thinking that the best thing to do was to hold up somewhere overnight and heal, he hides out in a shed. But the owners freak out and call the vet to come get him since they can see he's bleeding.
As soon as Maddy is there to deal with the stray (dog), Konrad knows that she is his mate and acts like the love sick wolf he is. He lets her put a catchpole around his neck, take him back to the vet clinic and clean him up and then lays on her rug at the foot of her bed.
This story was so cute. I really liked how goofy Konrad is when he finally comes close to her in his wolf form and just goes along with whatever she wants him to do. It's not until he turns back into a human that things get a little crazy. I mean, telling her and having her believe that he's a wolf shifter and she's his mate right away would probably be a little much for any human to digest. But it was a really quick, cute novella and I had a good time with this book.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Macy's Haul
I told you guys a couple of days ago that I would show you my makeup haul that I bought with the $50 giftcard I got. So here it is. I was able to get a 3 piece Tartlette palette, Nyx setting spray, Nyx foundation and Nyx loose setting powder. They sent me a free sample of a men's cologne on a card as well. All the Nyx products are my usual products that I use everyday. I like Nyx for just about everything but I like Tarte for eyeshadow so let's take a look at those palettes.
I got 3 Tartlette Palettes and I love these shades. I wear mostly browns but I also wear some pinks as well so these colors are perfect for me. Plus, they smell like chocolate, not even kidding.
And since I'm talking makeup here's something else I received last week.
I received a full size bottle of Benefit Porefssional Super Setter Setting Spray from Influenster for free. It works really good too so I'm happy to have received it.

Apartment Life #232
This is a new weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell Life.
This week as a pretty quiet week. But I did see this guy who I am assuming is homeless, walking down the street. He was stumbling around down the street like he was either high or drunk and when he came to the cement slab there, he sat down and then slowly leaned over and went to sleep. About an hour later he got up and met up with a group of homeless people down the street.
Well, I signed a 12 month lease for my apartment so it looks like I'll be able to report any of the craziness that goes on around here.
So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Review: Elemis Aha Glow Cleansing Butter
A while ago I bought a sample size of Elemis Superfood Aha Glow Cleansing Butter. It came with 2 samples, rose facial oil and Superfood Facial Wash.
I just wanted to say how good this all smells. The rose oil smells just like roses and the cleansing butter and face wash has its own scents but they are so nice. The face wash and cleansing butter leave my skin feeling so soft and it didn't break me out which was really nice.
I didn't realize how much I like the scent of rose until now but I'm definitely going to have to look out for more rose scented bath and body products. The face oil absorbs really quickly and doesn't interfere with the other products or makeup that I use. I've tried other Elemis products before and I've liked everything that I've tried so far.
Have you used any Elemis products?

Review: Walmart Beauty Box- November
This review should have been posted last month so it's coming to you a little late but I had a lot going on last month.
The Walmart Beauty box is a subscription box that comes out 4 times a year. You sign up for it and it comes automatically every 3 months. These boxes are free and you just pay $5 + tax for shipping, mine came to $5.42.
What was in the box?
Gold Bond lotion.
Batiste dry shampoo.
BLISS Rose Gold Moisture Cream.
NYX Professional Makeup Butter Gloss.
Earth to Skin Facial Cleanser.
I'm actually out of all the sample bottles of dry shampoo that I received over the past couple of years so I was happy to get another one. This one smells good and works good but does leave a white powder i your hair. I just have to brush it through really well to get rid of the powder.
I love the NYX brand of Makeup so I was happy to get something that I haven't tried before. It's a really good lip gloss.
I like the cleanser, it smells good and worked well on my skin and so did the moisturizer. I also like the Gold Bond lotion. I've actually tried this one before and already liked it.
So for the price, I think this was a really good box of beauty items.
Have you signed up for this box?

Happy Raturday!
"Today I'm going to teach you to bake cookies. First step, don't taste the grapefruit, it's much too sour."
"Second step, is start gathering your ingredients. If you make a mess, mom will clean it up."
"Make sure to measure everything. We don't want them to come out like last time."
"Be sure to take many snack breaks."
"It's ok to taste test the cookies before baking them."
"Arrange the cookies on a baking sheet. If you put paw prints on the cookies, all the better. The guests will love that. "
"Be sure to give mom the cute face when begging for cookies after they are done baking. It works every time."
