Favorite Song of the Week

I've posted Slipknot before but they are hard and not everyone likes them. I like this song. I have liked them since I first saw them in those crazy-weird masks. lol Do I have a mask fetish...maybe? But that's a discussion for another day. I hope you enjoy this song.

  2. That's kind of a horror music video. I have heard of Slipknot but don't know their music. I think I began to move away from hard rock and heavy metal when I turned 50.

  3. Hi, Mary!

I am late getting to you this morning because we are experiencing a second outage related to hurricane Ian. We lost cable and internet service Thursday night and it remains off. I am using a borrowed device with limited capacity to leave this comment. The cable company's website is DOWN and their recorded message states that work crews can't get to the origin of the problem and work to restore service until it is "safe" to do so, leading me to believe that flood water and/or downed power lines are hindering them. Please understand if I am tardy visiting you tomorrow or can't show up at all. I will try my best to be here.

As you know by now, I love my music and my videos hard and heavy. As far as I'm concerned, this song by Slipknot is right in the pocket, just my style, and the video sells it perfectly. I love the fierce vocals and distorted, wall of sound guitar and drum mix. I also enjoyed the creepy video with band members wearing frightful masks. The burning woman sequence and toy piano solo at end were cool.

Thanks for introducing me to this song, "Yen," and enjoy the rest of your Saturday. I hope to see you again tamale, dear friend Mary!

    1. I hope they can get the cable and power restored to you soon. Ian really did a number where it landed.

  4. I love how you explore newer music. I confess that I tend to stick to the decades near my high school years mostly. LOL, about the masks. I was that way about KISS painted faces.

    1. lol I was a teenager in the 80's and still listen to some of the 80's hair bands from back then so I totally get it. Yes, the KISS painted faces do it for me too.

  8. I liked it although the video is a bit strange. It takes a lot for me to not like tunes, they're so many good ones out there finding them all is impossible.
