Spooky Caramel Apples For Halloween

If you're looking for some spooky Halloween caramel apples, I have found a few places that have some interesting ones. You can find these at Savannah's Candy Kitchen and these 4 candied apples will cost you $79.95. They are cute though.

Mrs. Prindables 6pc Individual Halloween Apple Assortment at QVC. These were $39.98 at the time I made this post.

I found these on Etsy by CraftDLisa. You get 4 caramel decorated apples for $45.00.

You can find these on Etsy by TreatsByTaryn. You get 6 caramel apples for $50.00. They are nicely decorated.

Now if you'd rather make your own, you can find a lot of recipes for caramel apples on Pinterest. I found this and the next two on Pinterest

I've never made caramel apples and I do like apples and candy so they always look really good. Have you ever made caramel apples?

Apartment Life #340

This is a weekly blog post that I'm calling Apartment Hell  Life. I've mentioned a few times some of the crazy things that have gone on in and around my apartment complex and in my neighborhood in the past 25 years that I've lived here and people keep telling me I should write a book. But instead of a book, I've decided to share the crazy things that have happened in and around my apartment complex in the last 25 years here in a weekly blog post.

The police were here right a the sun was going down on Tuesday. They were using their flashlights to look at the sidewalk again. I don't know if they found anything because they left soon after.

There was a loud argument in my courtyard on Wednesday. The lady who moved in a while back and was taken away in the ambulance who had cancer, never came back home. I think she might have passed away. There are now tweaker(drug addict) family members living in her apartment. I see a lot of people coming over, staying for a few seconds and leavin again. It looks like they are dealing drugs to me. Well they got into a fight with each other and the police were called. I didn't see anyone get arrested though which is surprising because it was obvious that some of those people were high as hell.
---

This grocery cart was sitting on the sidewalk and I noticed that someone had lit a fire inside it and melted part of it. I've seen homeless people use these as BBQ's before and that's likely what happened but this is plastic one not a metal frame cart that they could use for that.

It was melted pretty good.
---

Here's an update on the weird bullet situation. A couple of weeks ago I told you my daughter was finding bullets out in the alley. This week I noticed there were three single bullets in one of my neighbors window sills. Now I have no idea if he found them or if they are his. Then I noticed these three bullets in front of his door that someone had stood upright. He was in his apartment at the time and they were right in front of his door so he couldn't have put them there and opened his door to go in. Someone had to have put them there.

That's weird, right?

Here are two bullets in his window.

Like, why? I want to ask him what's up but I'm not sure I want to really know if it's a weird reason. A couple of days after these pictures were taken, the manager and security showed up and evicted the guy who was staying there illegally. His sister had rented the apartment and she moved out last month and he had been staying there without paying rent since then. They locked him out/changed the locks and I've seen him hanging out with the homeless people since then.

This is a screenshot from my 2 window cameras on Friday around Noon time. The bedroom camera was all cloudy skies while the living room camera shows blue clear skies. I thought the contrast was cool. I can pull up both cameras at the same time and see what's happening in both areas.

The high this week was 91F/32C
The low this week was 58F/14C

So that's it for this week's Apartment Hell  Life! Be sure to come back next week for more.

Sky Pictures

Since I didn't get any freebies this week, how about some sky and cloud pictures. This is my favorite time of year because it's cooler especially at night, we get a lot more cloudy, overcast skies even if we don't get a lot of rain. This is a sunrise picture where the sun is just starting to come up.

The sun is up a little more lighting up the sky and the clouds.

This is what the sky looked like by the time we got back home from our walk.

That night at Sunset, we had a lot more clouds. You can see the sun setting in the background beneath that huge dark cloud.

The next day, more dark clouds. And funny enough that U-Haul I told you guys about a few weeks ago that those two ladies are living in was parked across the street in this picture. And for those of you new here, that large wall is the sound wall. Directly on the other side of the wall is the I95 Freeway. The 18 foot wall is supposed to cut down on some of the noise from the freeway but it's still very noisy.

Book Review: Fallen King by Kenzie Skye

Book Description

He might be king of the damned, but he'll be damned if he lets anything get in the way of his obsession...

Fallen king. That’s what they call me, even though I was once the most powerful celestial in the realm. I was wronged, my kingdom ruthlessly stolen from me by my own brother, but I can restore it.

She is the key to restoring it. I’ve watched over her all her life, waiting for the moment I could swoop in and claim her.

And now that it’s finally here, nothing will stop me. And if I’m being totally honest, I want her as more than just a key. She’s become my obsession, and she will be my bride.

Nothing will stop me.

Nothing but a new revelation that could rip all my years of planning to shreds.

My Review

Amelia is an orphan and has no idea that she is the key to Julian getting his kingdom back from his brother. Julian has been watching, directing and meddling in Amelia's life since her birth because he knew he could use her once she turned 18 years old.

So Julian pretty much kidnaps her before anyone else can get their hands on her and brings her back to the underworld to keep her safe and explain things to her. The only problem? The more time Julian spends with Amelia, the more he grows to care for her, so much so that he's beginning to think that she might be more important than just using her as the key to get his kingdom back.

These two fell for each other hard and Julian wasn't expecting to have as strong of feelings for her as he did. Amelia finally feels like she has the family that she's always missed having being an orphan. When her ancestry secrets are finally revealed, it was a great twist.

This was a quick read but the story was so good!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Favorite Halloween Costume?

I tried finding a picture of the Halloween costume I used to wear when I was a kid, this is the closest I could find. *back in the early 70's* And I say THE costume because I only had one! I wore the same costume for years because my parents didn't believe in buying a new costume each year when the old one would fit. This witch costume is the closest to the one that I used to wear that I could find.

I remember when I first got it, it was huge on me and my mom took a belt to tie it up around my waist so I wasn't tripping over my feet. She got a big one so I wouldn't out grow it for a few years and I remember the last time I wore it I was 10 years old and must have worn it for at least 4 years. It had holes in the vinyl poncho and the mask that used to have a rubber band on it was held on with a blue ribbon that my mom tied the mask to my head with. That thing was completely falling apart but I didn't care.. I got to go Trick or Treating and came back with a huge amount of candy. *That my mom and dad raided*

So did you have a favorite Halloween costume when you were a kid?

Book Review: The Changeling With The Silver Hair by Anna Hammar

Book Description

Life for Princess Aoife Quinn had not been easy since the humans had attacked Changeling Court five years before. Branded with a magical seal, Aoife was stripped of her magic and married off to someone she didn’t know or like. During her wedding, however, humans once again attacked leading to Aoife being rescued by the dark haired King of the Elven Court. Agreeing to his marriage proposal, Aoife slowly learns about the occupants of Castle Gray and heals herself from the trajeties experienced during the human war. Only, not everyone from Changeling Court is happy with the marriage announcement, leading to an unexpected threat from someone she held dear.

My Review

Aoife is a changeling but when humans attack her people, she is branded with a magical seal that essentially seals her powers. Years later her father just wants to marry her off since women aren't really worth much else but making good treaties through marriage with neighboring courts or royals. But Aoife is against this marriage to a man she doesn't love. Once again during her wedding day humans attack and kill her intended but Lysander the King of the Elven Court spirits her away to keep her safe.

Elven Court is so different from what Aoife is used to but she finds herself there as she and Lysander become closer. Everyone in Elven Court is welcoming to her even if some of them don't trust her right away.

Once the huge secrets are revealed, it all started to make more sense. I felt sorry for all she endured all because someone close to her was not right in the head. Lysander was one of the best hero's I've read in a long time. Gosh, I loved him. He is such a great character.  Aoife ends up being stronger than she ever thought possible and I loved that for her. The way she was brought up, she was supposed to be quiet and look nice. But Lysander shows her that she can be more and oh boy, she sure is.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Creatures

I had fun looking up AI generated creatures on Pixabay. All of these pictures are free to use. I could imagine creatures like this coming out to prowl around on Halloween.
