How To Fake it

No, I'm not talking about that! Get yur heads out of the gutter, ya bunch of pervs. lol
I'm actually talking to the depressed people out there, that are constantly asked things like, "Why don't you smile more?" or, "Is something wrong?" or "What is wrong, why are you depressed?" or "Can I do something to make you feel better?" You know all our family members, friends, co-workers, passerbys, people we come into contact with, people on the train, bus ect...

When a person is dealing with depression it's hard to put on a smile, it's really hard. But when we don't we constaly have people asking us if there's something they did wrong, if there's something they can do to make us feel better, they want to know what's wrong even when we don't know ourselves. And people who don't understand that cannot take what we are saying at face value.

Sometimes when a person is depressed they really do not know why they are depressed, they just are.

But, if you don't want to have to deal with the incessant worrying from others about how we are, there is something you can do. You can fake it.

You heard me right, just fake a smile, a laugh, a happy face.

When I was 18 years old I had a therapist tell me that if I didn't want to deal with people constantly asking what was wrong, that I should put on a facade.

What is a facade? Think of it like one of the beautiful Las vegas Hotels we have here. The front of the some of the buildings might looks like castles or Lions...but that's just a fake front of the building. The building isn't really a castle that you can go into. It's made with a special material just to look like a castle...it's a facade or fake front.

That's what you can do, fake it, put on a facade with your feelings, facial expressions, laughter..ect.

I've been doing it for more than 20 years and it works. I stopped feeling really happy quite some time ago. Most times I don't feel much of anything and it shows. I don't cry at weddings, funerals or at times when I should. I just don't feel it. I don't feel empathy for people, I can't empathize with you about how screwed up something is in your life. I know I should but it's just not there. I shut my feelings off a long time ago so I wouldn't be hurt anymore and for the most part I feel very little.

Sure there are times that I get depressed, but because it irritates me so much when people ask me what's wrong, I don't let my depression show on the out side. I put on a facade. I smile, I laugh, I talk about stupid trivial things even when I feel like punching the person in the face. Yes, I still get very angry at times.

Sometimes it actually works the way that therapist was hoping it would and all that fake smiling, laughing ect...will end up in a good or pleasant mood or something nice happeneing. It happens.

So if you are like me, put on a facade and fake it. People will stop asking you, "What's wrong?" because they will think nothings wrong.

I've had a good week

Anyone who knows me knows that I am really big into the sample scene. Which means I am constanly going after samples of ...well whatever. I have found some really good sample websites that let you know where all the great samples are.

I am also seriously into romance novels as well as horror movies. This week I've had an enormous amount of samples sent to me as well as won some great stuff from contests I've entered.

So far this week I've gotten:

A large box of NTC (Nestle Tasters Choice) coffee. I am a Brand ambassador for NTC so they send me samples to share with my friends and family.

I was picked from a survey to do a product test on two full size bottles of a household product that I am not allowed to tell anyone the name of. lol But I will tell you that it's something I can use. :)

I won an e-book. The ESP Affair By Alison Tyler. Thanks Alison!
Won a paperback Novel by Kate Walker. Thanks Kate!
I won a banana nut bread scented candle.

I got a ton of samples this week too. Cascade dishwasher detergent, tampons, pads, dog food, free Kashi Cereal, Pantene shampoo and conditioner, Nivea lotion, Green tea and a sample of special K cereal.

I also noticed that I have made almost $1000 from the articles I've had published through Associated Content. And you can find the latest articles on the right hand side of this blog. :)

So all in all not a bad week at all and the week isn't even over yet. :)

Harry Connick Jr. On Idol...

So I will admit I watch American Idol and I like it. i don't care what anyone says, it's a good show. Sure the singers aren't as good this season as in past seasons but they last few that are left are pretty good.

Now this week's mentor was harry Connick Jr...who sings old time songs that I frankly cannot stand. But I watched it ebcause I wanted to see how the contestants would do with Frank Sinatra songs.

Frankly I think they should do away with this type of song in the competition because most people do not listen to this type of music anymore and it really did nothing for the performers.

I also want to say what an ass Harry Connick Jr is...his huge ego showed up everytime he was on the screen. In what he said, to how he joked around with the contestants to how he was on stange singing on wednesday.

If I didn't NOt like him before, I sure would after his appearance on Idol this week. What an ass.

Vampires, Werewolves and Demons Oh My!

Looks like my computer is working for now. I have a feeling that I still have some sort of a virus on this thing and will be running the long all day scan tomorrow. But now onto some better news.

Been gone for a while

So as you have noticed I've been gone for a while. First I was having or I should say I am still having some problems with computer viruses. We thought we got rid of the virus that stopped our computer from running right and now it's doing the same things it was doing before. I'll be online and all of the sudden my window will disappear.

Now it's doing the same thing after having had a virus scan on my computer and getting rid of a rootkit virus and several trojans on my computer. I may just stop using the computer for a while I'm not sure yet.

Borders Book Store

I went to Borders today and bought a few books. All Romance books of course. But I had to tell this story because it was just too funny.

So I was gathering my books, I bought 5 of them and was looking at Laurel K. Hamilton's books when 2 little old ladies- I think they were about 70 years old...came over to where I was looking and picked up a Vampire book. One lady says to the other, "Oh you have to read this one, it was sooo good." And she gave it to her friend.

Then next thing I hear is...

"OMG, this is making me horny." As the lady reads the back of the book.

They both look behind them and smile at me and ask me, "Do you like Vampire books?"
Of course I answer, "Why yes I do." She holds up the book and I tell her that I already have all of them in that series so far.

I asked her if she has read any of Christine Feehan's books and she said no. So I went and picked out Dark Prince and gave it to her. She read the back and said..."Oh my, I'm getting horny."
The other little old lady reads the back of the book and says she doesn't have any man at home, her husband died ten years earlier but she does have batteries for the 'you know'.

All I wanted to do was get the hell out of there at this point. I am not going to stand around a book store talking to two elderly women about how horny the books make them and how many batteries their vibrators take.

So I smiled and told them to enjoy the books, and I went to pay for my books. As I walked out of the isle I was in, a young men who worked there smiled at me and nodded his head to the little old ladies and said, "They come in at least once a month." and started laughing. So they must talk like that all the time.

omg...

What is Vajazzling?

I was going to publish this article I wrote, on Associated Content but they declined it because they said it was either too pornographic or the idea behind this content was obscene. So all you readers get a freebie article. lol

I had to write about this and share it because, really...who is going to vajazzle their privates? Not me.

On a recent episode of The George Lopez Show, Jennifer Love Hewitt announced that she Vajazzles regularly to feel good about her privates. So what exactly is a vajazzle?

What is Vajazzle
It’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like it would be. It’s kind of like bedazzling for female genetalia. Completely Bare in NYC is where the vajazzle got started. They called it “Completely Bare With A Flair” before everyone coined the term ‘vajazzle’ after hearing the term from Jennifer Love Hewitt.

How Does One Get Vajazzled?
First you have to find a spa or parlor that knows about this fairly new concept in bejeweling your private areas. That’s the hard part and once that’s done, it’s fairly easy.

First the person doing the vajazzling has to wax the region so the crystals and rhinestones have a smooth surface to stick to. Then the area is cleansed to remove any remaining wax. Then dependant on the kind of art work you want done, the Swarovski crystals may come on sheets where intricate designs are all ready to be applied and can be lifted all at once and applied to the area wanted. The sheets of crystals are held in the vajazzler’s hands so the adhesive warms up and will stick to the skin.

Other designs are made by applying the crystals one at a time after the adhesive has been heated by the hands of the person applying them.

How Long does a Vajazzle last and how much does it cost?
A vajazzle can last anywhere from 4-7 days and Completely Bare Spa said they were only charging $50 for a Vajazzle.

According to emmagem.com, while on the George Lopez show, Jennifer Love Hewitt said, “After I broke up with my boyfriend a friend Swarovski-crystalled my precious lady and it shined like a disco ball. Women should vajazzle their va-jay-jays!”

While sparkling ‘down there’ may seem like a strange idea to some, it seems to be all the rage to others. I’ve personally heard of trimming terms like ‘landing strip’ which to me looks like you just missed a spot. Or the ‘Brazilian’ which makes me cringe when thinking of the hot wax and all that ripping.

For those of us that don’t want to embarrass ourselves by crying and screaming in front of a stranger as the waxing is done. The DIY vajazzle kits from Pubic Pampering is the next best thing.

How did I end up with Rats?

This is Romi, our first rat. Although she died quite a while ago she will always be remembered in all the photos we took of her.

We had several hamsters at the time we adopted Romi, in fact I wasn't even looking to adopt a rat. I had never even had a rat or considered adopting a rat. I have always been a hamster or mouse girl.

But that all changed when my neighbor moved in a few doors away from us and because really good friends with us. His girlfriend at the time had bought two rats and gave one to him. He really liked Romi and when she was smaller she would ride around in his large pants pockets. You know the kind that are all the rage these days on those huge baggie pants. Pockets large enough to fit a small trailer into...lol

She would poke her little head out, he would give her a sunflower seed and she would burrow back down in the pocket. He let Romi roam the couch and she never jumped ontot he floor. But he worked alot and she wasn't getting enough attention.

Ken told me that she would run over to the front of the cage whenever they came into the apartment and she wanted human company and one day while Ken was playing with Romi his friend asked him if he wanted to take her home. He thought about for a minute and said yeah, Mary will love her.

He gave us Romi, the cage, food and bedding. I'd never had a rat and I thought her tail was really going to ick me out, but it's alot softer than it looks and she was so sweet, and loved to be held played with, petted and loved our company.

After a couple of years though she started getting sick and I read everything I could on the internet and asked several vet's what I could do for her. It was then that I learned that rats live about as long as hamsters do. Only about 4-5 years, hamster living about 3-4 years.

Romi was already 3 years old and could not eat the hard seeds anymore. She didn't have the strength to crack them open. So I started feeding her the human foods that I read were alright to feed her. Scrambled eggs, cooked chicken, fruits vegies and of all things canned dog and cat food. She didn't care for the cat foods but she loved the Mighty Dog canned dog food. She also loved the jars of baby food.

She lived another 18 months eating those foods, but in the picture you can see how she was so old she started losing the hair on her nose and head.

In the last few months she just wanted to be held all the time. So we would all take turns holding her on a small towel and wrapping her in it so just her little head was peeking out and she would sleep in our arms until she was wanting something to eat or a drink of water and we would put her in her cage to do that and go to the bathroom. Most times she would just right back up on top of her house and start nudging the top of the cage open telling us she wanted to come back out and we would let her out

She was so spoiled but loved alot. She died one day while I was holding her in my arms. I had every intention of taking her to the vet's office and having her put to sleep but they said as long as she was eating, drinking and didn't seem like she was in pain, there was no need to euthanize her yet.

Then one day she had a seizure while sleeping in my arms and she died.

It's strange how some animals will go so fast while others will have a long lingering illness, and have to be euthanized but you just don't want to see them suffer. I'm glad she went as fast as she did.

But soon after she died we decided that we wanted more rats. She had been our first and we didn't want her to be our last, she showed us how loving and great a pet rat really was.

We can here you...on your cell phone

I wonder sometimes about the human race....because if the people I keep running into are anything to go by, we are all doomed. Seriously.

Last week I was in the grocery store, going about my own shopping..not talking on any cell phones where anyone could hear me...Because I don't have a cell phone.

Anyway, this woman was slowly meandering up and down the isles with her cart, all the time talking on her cell phone. Loudly. First, there's no need for everyone in a 3 mile radius to hear what you are talking about. Frankly Norma, we don't care what you had for dinner or what your best friend yelled out during sex last night. We really don't.

*From here on out I'll call dumbshit on the cell phone, Norma.*

So Norma is walking up and down the isles not really even putting much into her cart, but talking very loudly about how she and her husband like to 'experiment' with different positions in bed.
*I can't make this stuff up people*

Norma tells her friend on the phone that her husband is so 'big', *Yes, she said 'Big' louder than anything else in that sentence. She really wanted us to know her husband wasn't a pencil dick*
that he actually hurt her when he started going to town.

"ponders whether "going to town" is a euphemism for rough sex" I think it is...

Norma then laughed at something her friend on the phone said and as I walked past her I noticed a man behind her staring at her ass.

"I believe he was thinking about going to town." But I could be wrong. *shruggs*

I made my way out of the store, went home and tried to clear that conversation from my mind. But I don't believe there's a way to take back somethings that's already been introduced to your ears...unless you use a sharp pencil to dig it out...But I wasn't quite at that point...yet!

Another time I was in the doctors office waiting for my name to be called and this guy started talking to his friend on his cell phone. Now I was under the belief that people were suppossed to take their phones outside to talk, but he didn't.

He started telling his friend on the phone that yeah, he had a big one that the doc was gonna have to clean out because he couldn't reach it this time...it was on his ass. Oh and it really hurts when the nasty smelling pus comes shooting out of it.

*gag*
I looked at him, gave him the "if you don't shut the hell up I'm going to stuff my purse so far down your throat you'll have to sh*t it out in order to remove it...look" But he just kept talking.

If you find yourself in a social situation with any of these people...run! Run as fast and as far away as you can before you hear what they have to say to the person on the other end of their iphone. Because if you don't you might just regret it, like I did.

Pigeons and Doves...

For about a month now my hubby has been seeing a black pigeon in our courtyard and he or she is always with three Doves. So I started putting out bread for them and sure enough everyday, they have been coming and sitting in our courtyard and eating the bread.

That black pigeon and the three doves are always together. i wonder if the pigeon found the doves and raised them or vice versa. It's strange how they are always together.

The School System having to cut things out

Today on the news the Clark County school district said they have to cut millions of dollars out of the budget and have devised a surey that parents, students and residents can take to tell them where they would like to see the cuts taken from.

I just took the survey and some of the things they were thinking of doing are just a little nuts.
One of the questions asked if they should make the school walk zone 3 miles instead of two miles. Now let me tell you what this means.

Right now any child from kindergarten on up to 12th grade who lives less than 2 miles and right up to the 2 mile mark, has to either get a ride with their parents to school or walk. If the parents don't have transportation, they walk.

Kids who live more than 2 miles from school can sign up to get the school bus but the bus stop might be more than a few blocks from their home, so they would ahve to do some walking anyway.

Now let me tell you, when my daughter was in the 1st grade we lived exactly 2.1 miles from the school and we didn't have a car so I walked her to school every day and home every day. Even in the 116F temperatures. A few times she would get so over heated that she stopped and vomited on the way home and we would stop under a tree so she could cool down a little, but in temps as hot as that, there is no cooling down. So when it was really hot, I sometimes would keep her home so she didn't have a heat stroke on the way home in the middle of the afternoon.

Now they want 6 and 7 year olds to walk 3 miles in the 116 F temps of the summer? That's jsut not right and it's not healthy...a kid could die.

It would take us about an hour to walk home because she was so small and couldn't walk fast and it was hot as hell.

Eliminate high paying school board jobs, sports, and make it a 9 month school year again. But don't make it harder to get to and from school for those who don't have a car to get their kids to and from school.

Almost summer

The temperature has gone from 60 to 80F in a matter of days here. That's one of the things I hate about Las vegas, we don't have cool temps for more than a few days and we don't have really cold temps but we get the really hot temps.

I fully expect 90F by next month and in May it'll be ever hotter until June It'll be 116F. Oh joy.

We don't even get the nice changing of the leaves or anything ebcause we don't ahve those types of tree's. We have a bucket load of olive tree's that drop black olives all over the ground and we have cactus. I even have an alor vera plant out side that I've managed to keep from dying, mostly because it looks so much like a sort of cactus anyway. I don't even have to water it all that much.

Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce

I just saw the music video for this song and all I can say is wth?
If you haven't seen it here it is...
http://new.music.yahoo.com/videos/Lady+GaGa/Telephone+f%2F+Beyonce--218656764

I like some of Lady Gaga's music and I like some of Beyonce's music...I don't however like most of the music videos because they are weird. But when i saw this one I was thinking to myself...wth?

There is a huge double standard because these two women can make this type of video and you don't hear a damn thing about it but Adam Lambert kisses a guy on stage when he's singing or rubs his crotch in the face of one of the back up singers/musician's that were on stage and the shit hit's the fan all over the web, news and radio.

Frankly I think This music video is waaay more obscene than what Adam Lambert did on stage.

In this video they make it look like all guards in women's prison are butch lesbians and all women in prison are crazy lesbian's.

The music video is nuts and all the way through it I was thinking wth?

Neighbors

It's inevitable when you live in an apartment that some things are going to happen. People are going to make too much noise, someone is going to have a party, there are going to be shouting matches from other apartments and someone is going to be found dead, either from natural causes or from other....

Well that last one happened at my apartment complex today. He was my neighbor and lived just 2 doors away from me. His name was Ron and he was in his early 50's. He'd only been living here for about a year but he was a nice guy.

The manager placed a 30 day notice on his apartment door on the 3rd of this month because he hadn't come in to pay the rent. Then today my hubby, Ken went to his door and knocked on it because we hadn't seen him in a few days and the 30 days notice was still on his door. Today being the 12th, it was a little strange for him not to have taken it down by now.

When there was no answer to the door, Ken got a bad feeling and sniffed the door....sure enough there was a really bad,,, really bad odor coming from the apartment. This isn't the first time Ken has found a dead person in their apartment here, since he is the maintenance man here he has alot to do with the residents and routinely talks with many of them and when he doesn't see them he gets worried.

He went to get the manager and they unlocked th edoor, sure enough Ron was dead in his living room. The police and then the coroner came out and said it looks like he probably had a heart attack and he's been there for 7-10 days. very sad.

This is the 4th person Ken has found deceased in their apartment. It's stands to reason it's going to happen since we are all going to die at some time or another.

Drugs and Alcohol

Ever since hearing about Corey Haim's death, I've been seeing how people feel about drug addicts, drunks, ect...It truly pisses me off when an addict will get a free pass because someone thinks they have a disease, they can't help the way they act. They deserved better than what they got, or the real problem is they had an awful childhood and drugs were a way of dealing with their awful childhood or life.

Bullshit! Double bullshit!

They choose to pick up the pipe, the cocaine, the bottle of booze or whatever pill they are high on. They choose to keep doing it, they choose to lose control and they choose to do all the things that they did to keep getting the drugs in the first place.

It irritates me to no end when I hear people say, Oh he's drunk, he doesn't know what he's doing. Or He deserves a better life than the one he has now because of the drugs. Bullshit. They choose to do the drugs and I won't feel sorry for them. They choose to steal, rob people, sell their bodies, sell drugs and whatever else they are doing in order to support their habit.

I had a bad childhood, really bad. But I didn't turn to drugs or booze or blame my childhood on every bad decision I've made since becoming an adult. You're an adult now, act like one and stop sniveling over what has happened to you. What are you going to do with the rest of your life?

Only you can make it better and only you can make the decision to do the wrong thing by using drugs or alcohol. It's not like someone who gets a brain tumor and starts making bad decisions. They can't help having a brain tumor, but people can stop drinking or doing drugs.

After more than 40 years of heavy drinking my dad one day decided to stop...and that was it for him. He stopped.

My mom did the same thing a few years ago, although I think she drinks a beer now and then but I don't have to be around it, so I can't say much to her. It's her life.

I refuse to be around someone who drinks so much they can't control themselves. I'd leave a family member if they ever got that way and not be around them at all until they got their shit together. if they never did then that's their problem and I wouldn't have it around me or in my life.

There's only so much you can do for a family member who won't stop the drugs, alcohol, pills. If they want to ruin their own lives and they will, have no doubt they will. You have to let them and not help them at all. Don't be an enabler, don't help them until they stop the drugs, alcohol, pills. If that meant never tlaking to one of my family members again...I'm ready to do that. That's how strongly against it I am.

No kid deserves to be put through having to live with alcoholic parents. I don't think parents who drink on a regular basis should ever get their kids back. If you want to screw up your own life, go ahead and do it, but don't screw up your kids life in the process.

Yeah, it's a touchy subject for me....very touchy. And it pisses me off to no end.

MySpace sucks

I just tried to post a link to this blog from my blog on MySpace and the link keeps getting blocked because they said this site is full of adware...is a phishing site or has been reported for spam. Then at the bottom is says oh but there might not be anything wrong with the site, if you are trying to reach a blog they domain may not be working with MySpace to combat security problems so Myspace has decided to block the entire domain.

That means anyone posting a link to Blogger...from MySpace will have their link blocked. How stupid is that?

The airlines and why they need to be boycotted

I was looking at some articles and found this one about how this large passenger got thrown off a southwest airline by the pilot because the pilot thought he was so big he would be a safety risk.

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2701617/director_kevin_smith_tossed_from_southwest.html?cat=9

Frankly, I think that kind of nonsense is insulting, degrading and legally wrong. If they want to start doing idiotic stuff like this they need to have it in writing beforehand. If on the website or in writing somewhere it said that passengers weighing more than xxx amount could not fly, then I wouldn't have as much of a problem as I do right now. But they don't have that in writing.

What they have in writing is that if a passenger is too big and cannot fit in a seat and buckle a seatbelt even with an extender, they may have to buy an extra seat.

Boycott the airlines. I've been saying it for years. Stop letting them get away with the foolishness that they get away with everyday. stop letting them keep passengers on the tarmac for 12 and more hours. Yes, there's a new law going in effect that says the airlines have to let passnegers off the airlines if the plane is going to be on the tarmac for I think it was 5 hours, but I read today in Yahoo news that 2 airlines are allready trying to ask for more time than that ebcause the busy times for airlines are coming up and they say there are going to be delays and if they ahve to let everyone off after a certain amount of time the flights will et even more backed up.

Well maybe they have a scheduling problem and need to fix it.
Boycott the airlines.
I'll keep saying it until people start realizing that, that's what it's going to take before they will stop treating passengers like baggage.

I love finding the free sample sites and ordering the ones I can use or the ones I can give to my family. The dog food used to come in handy when I had rats, they would eat that stuff up. I even got a free sample (a whole can) of cat food and my daughter opened it up and left it in the courtyard for the cats that are always around here. The next day it was gone, so some lucky cat got it.

Awful times? Pessimistic days?

I've been told that I'm pessimistic, negative, see the bad in everything. Yeah, well that may be true to some extent. But different people see things differently. That's just how things work out.

To some people getting a flat tire would be awful, to others it would be a minor inconvenience and to others they would just shrug their shoulds and go about getting a new one without ever thinking about it.

I think it has alot to do with how people think about different situations that come up and how they handle it when their days don't go the way they plan. it also has alot to do with finances. Let's face it, if I had the money to get a tire fixed everytime one went flat, I probably wouldn't let it bother me all that much either. But when you live from paycheck to paycheck and have to wait until you get another paycheck in order to get a new tire or even a used tire, you are going to be stressed out about it.

Yeah, I might see the bad in mos tthings and I might look for the negative in most days but I've come to the realization that bad things are going to happen and it's how we handle these situations that are going to make how we feel about them when they happen.

I like to plan ahead for disasters and when I say disasters I mean all the little annoying things that can happen in our everyday lives, like flat tired, electricity going out, a 12 lb hail stone falling through my roof, a fire happening in my car or home. Yeah, most of these things aren't going to happen but it;s ncie to have a plan for them just in case they do, right?

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who has been on the internet, in chat rooms, on MySpace, Facebook or written an email knows better than to type in all caps and use a disasterous amount of exclamation points.

Yes, if you use all caps we consider it shouting and can tell you are unhappy, really mean what you are saying or are just a dumbass and don't know any better.

Allow me to introduce you to the Caps Lock Key. It can be used to make all the letters big and you can actually press it again to type the right way. Use it! You see there, that was an appropriate use of an exclamation point.

Someone that constantly writes like this: I REALLY HATE IT WHEN SHE DOES THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OR
HAHAHAHAHAHA OMG THAT'S FUNNNYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you people that do this need to stop. Right now. Do not keep doing it because it's pissing people off and they might just stop talking to you because you are aggravating the hell out of them.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

The Diet Craze

I don't know one women that sometime in her life, wasn't trying to lose weight. Even if it was ajust a little bit, she was dieting. I did it and then after years of being sick and tired of dieting I finally stopped.

There are all sorts of weight loss things out there right now.
Lapband- surgery where a band is put around the top portion of your stomache so you feel full sooner. But the down side is the hole to get the food through is tiny and so anything you eat needs to be tiny or in tiny pieces or it can get stuck.

Alli- weight loss pills. We've all seen them being sold oover the counter. They are said that they will help you in that for every 2 lbs you lose on your own the pills will help you lose another 1 lb. Just by taking a pill. Wow, that's amazing. What they don't tell you is that there are extreme consequences for not sticking to their low low fat diet.

If you eat a meal with too much fat in it while on Alli, you will Shite your pants. Blow brown gass bubbles all down your legs, leaving a brown, greasy, stinky, sludgy trail behind you as you walk to the ladies room to change into the extra pair of clothing you brought to work, because you know this might happen.

I heard it explained that after eating a high fat content meal the diarrhea will be so bad that it just leaks right out and there's nothing you can do to stop it because it's so full of the grease and fat you were not suppossed to be eating while on Alli.

HCG diet....I'm still trying to figure out what this one is about. They tell you to gorge yourself the first few days after getting a B12 shot so that when you start injecting yourself with the HCG it recognizes the fat in your body and starts to burn it. The only thing is after the first few days of gorging yourself you have to stay on a very strict 500 calorie a day diet.

500 calories a day is not a healthy diet. I've been to enough dieticians, doctors, health professionals to know that only getting 500 calories a day can back fire and right badly. With this diet you are essentially starving your body into losing weight and that can come back to bite you. Starvation reacts with the body in a bad way...your internal organs start losing fat and protein and they are being hurt by this. Hair will start falling out, your complexion may get worst and your hormones may become low or high which can make health problems worst.

In my opinion using pills, surgery, is the easy, lazy way out. And yes, I am a large woman and I know how I got this way. It didn't take one day to get this large and it wouldn't take one night to fix it, if I wanted to. I am fine with the way i look but for those of you who are not...the only diet that really works is diet and exercise.

A real diet would be to cut you calories down to 1000 a day and do some sort of exercise for one hour a day. be it walking, biking, stepping, hiking, lifting weights...whatever.
With that you should lose 1-2 lbs per week.
Yeah, it's not as fast as getting lap band, but you also won't have a surgical scar and you'll be able to eat more than one bite at a time for the rest of your life.

Tomatoes and Gift Cards

I've been sick with the flu since the 23rd, so I've been feeling pretty bad for the past week. But I felt a little better the other day when I got a phone call from the local radio station telling me that I had won one of the $10.00 Wendy's Gift cards that I had signed up for on their contest page.

I went down to the radio station and got the card, but it took a few days before I was feeling well enough to eat Wendy's. So yesterday when we went to Wendy's to spend my gift card, the total came to $18.97. I gave the guy my card and when he handed it back to me I saw on the register side that was facing me it said, amount due 8.97. So I pulled out my ATM card and started to hand it to him, but he pushed a button on the register and told me that my gift card had covered the whole thing.

I told him that I only had $10.00 on that card and the amount due in cash had said 8.97. But he assured me that the gift card had covered the whole things and when the register came out he even went to point out that I had $10.00 left on my card...according to the way he was reading the receipt.

Again I tried to point out that he was reading it wrong and that it was telling him I only had $10.00 on the card to begin with and that on the bottom where it said total, it said gift card total and then below that it said cash 8.97.

He just shook his head and said the receipt wouldn't have come out if the gift card hadn't covered the whle thing. I just shook my head and took our food and left. My hubby was shaking his head as well. He knew what had happened too....I didn't want this teenage boy to be shortchanged on his register but he was too stupid to realize what had happened and that I was trying to help him. Oh well...

Now on to the tomato part of my story.
While at Wendy's, I read a sign on the register that read something like...
There has been a great shortage of tomatoes and until this tomato shortage is rectified, no tomatoes will be added to any foods at Wendy's unless you specifically ask for them. There will also be a .50 extra charge for any tomatoes added to food until futher notice.

So if I had wanted a slice of tomato on my chicken club... it would ahve cost me .50 extra...seriously. They can keep their .50 slice of tomato.
I'm surprised they didn't have a sign up saying the keptchup would be extra too.

ASI or Advanced Secure Issuance cards

If you haven't heard of this it's the new ID and Driver's licenses that msot states are going to be getting. My state started issuing the new ID's in febraury on this year and they will continue to. The change is suppossed to prevent ID theft and fraud.

The new ID's will have changes to them and all that have a little gold star in the upper right hand corner will be ASI cards. You have to show more paperwork here now to get your ID, like two papers to prove you are a resident, like utlility bills and credit cards statements.

When I took my daughter to get her ID she didn't automatically get it they way I used to. They mailed it to her and it took two weeks for her to get it.

Things are a changin...

To much electronics in cars?

After all the problems toyota has been having with their gas pedals sticking, accelerating when they don't want to and the fact that the accelerater petal is not electronic when most cars didn't used to be that way. Maybe they should go back to the way it used to be.

When we go out to buy a car now a days we can't just pick a car based on how good it looks from the outside, how the gas mileage is on it, what color we want. No, now we have to be concerned if the manufacturers have installed to many electronics, if the electronics are installed correctly, if the gas petal is suddenly going to stick, if OnStar is listening to us, if the police can call OnStar and stop our cars if they suspect us of doing something illegal and if we'll be able to find a reliable mechanic that has the knowledge to fix all the electronic problems that might arise in the future.

Maybe it would jsut be easier to find a reliable older car and spend the money to getting it running real well. Then we wouldn't have to worry about onStar, sticking gas petals, too many wires and the guys who have knowledge working on those older cars can be found all over the place.

Can't they sing?

I was listening to th radio today and it seems like all these new artists are singing into a weird type of mic that is messing with their voices. I found out that it's called autotune. It's suppossed to be a vocal enhancing technique used in songs. ect.

But these singers who are using it all sound the same and you can't tell if they can really sing or not. You can't tell if they have a good voice or not because they all sound like they are singing into a synthisizer or something. It sounds bad to me.

It seems like alot of the hip hop artists are choosing to use this technique. Don't they want to sound like themselves? or do they not have the voice to be able to pull it off without this device.

The Ads are gone...

I put the Adsense ads on my blog because someone told me that they make money from them every month. Well, I'd had them on my blog for over a year and I haven't made one penny from them...so as of today they are gone.

The way they work is when someone visits your site or blog and they click on one of the ads, you get a few cents or a dollar for each time someone clicks on them. But I've been to many websites where they ahve ads and not once have I ever clicked on one of the ads. So I guess many people are like me and don't. So they are gone.

My mom's new dog

Shih Tzu (pronounced Shit-zu) lol

Last month my mom's 17 year old Lhapso Apso died. She had him cremated and his ashed are in this really cute little wooden box. She was really really attached to that dog and when he died she felt alone.

she kept saying she wasn't going to get another dog but then today she decided to go down to the shelter that is right around the corner from her and just 'see' what they had and if she found a dog she really liked.

She said she spent almost 4 hours there looking at this dog and that dog, petting long haired dogs, even a sweet little pit bull, who layed her head in my mom's lap.

My mom is in a wheel chair most of the time but she can get up and walk for shrt amounts of time, so she needed a dog that wasn't afraid of the motorized wheelchair and some of them were.

Then the lady brought out what my mom thought was a little puppy. My mom said it looked like a small ball of fur. But she was actually a four year old full grown Shih Tzu, that is so small she weighs less than 4 lbs.

I asked her...4 lbs? Seriously? That's a lil dog. But the dog who's name is cup cake, was laying in my mom's lap, tring to crawl into her pockets, and she said when cup cake looked up at her with those little brown eyes she knew she found the dog she wanted.

So Cup Cake is being spayed tomorrow morning and microchipped and my mom can pick her up after 6pm. The shleter aso gave my my a carrier, blanket and a large bag of Science diet food and a coupon for one free well doggie check up for anytime in the next year for Cup Cake...all for free!

Do you have an obsession?

I think alot of us obsess about different things at different times. if I know I have an article half done I sit and think about it until I go and finish it. It just has to get done! I tried having three or four articles half done. doing research for them all at th same time and writing a little bit each day, but that didn't work out too well. I found myself obsessing about getting them done.

So now I wait until I have the time to do one whole article and finish the darn thing. Done...until the next one.

Then I start obsessing about what I should write the next article on. How many ways can you write about how to care for your hamster. Or, The best foods to feed your pet rat. Maybe I should branch out to other animals...lol

When I know something has to be done, I have this need to get it done...NOW!. it can't wait until tomorrow, it can't wait until dinner is cooked...No it needs to get done now.

If I have a doctor's appointment the next day I'll have a hard time sleeping because I know that I have to go do something the next day and I want to get it done and over with. But I'm the same way about doing the grocery shopping, getting the car gassed up, doing the laundry, filling out paperwork...ect. if it needs to be done...do it now.

yep, I'm a bit obsessed.

Would you sell your used panties for money?

I just happened to be bored and looking through Craigslist and came across an add for used panties every other week. He's willing to pay $20.00 for them each time. Now this isn't the first time I've seen or heard about this particular fetish, but it got me thinking. How many women would do this to make a few bucks?

Can't he get his girlfriend to wear a pair for him and pay her some money, or is he so weird that he doesn't want a girlfriend he just wants some strange woman's panties to sniff?

censoring one self

If you have been to a blog, youtube, Yahoo news and have read the comments section you may have seen comments like this one.
(totally made up BTW)

I don't see why you f*cking people think this is such a big d*mn deal? What the f*ck is the big G--- d*mn deal?*

or

I was at the store and some guy slapped my arse. Why the effing fawk is he thinking?

Seriously? Do people really think that throwing a hyphen, asterisk or spelling the word weird is actually better than swearing in the first place? Do they think they are better then other people?

The last time I was on Yahhoo news I said Damn...oh no. really?
Sue me.

Reading...

I was going through the Amazon.com book lists of books I want to get and I saw that I need to get the latest installment of Wolf Tales. I am also looking forward to Atlantis Redeemed. I have been reading alot of paranormal romance here recently. I like the fantasies that are played out in the Vampire, Werewolf, Ghosts and aliens type books. There's just so many things that can be done with that.

One of my favorite series right now is the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton. She has done so much with this series. For some reason I can't explain, I have read other books where the M/M relations where they also have relations with a woman and I didn't like the way it was written so I stopped getting those Menage a trois type stories, that is until I read one of the books in the Anita Blake series.

Laurell has a way of getting the M/M as well as M/M/F and even more men in the bed than just two, for it to be really tender, emotional and easy to see how it can happen and work.

I didn't think I would like this type of arrangement but reading it the way she writes it, it's really entertaining. I don't think I would like it if it was all about two gay men or two bisexual men, but even that has it's place. But for these characters to bring the woman into their bed and have her be their focus while there, that makes it readable for me.

I think this has a lot to do with this being sort of a female fantasy thing. I mean what woman wouldna't want two men focused completely on her? None that I can think of.

Bucket List

Do you have a Bucket List? Did you see the movie, Bucket List?
I did see the movie and I have to say, it was so darn funny. It made me start thinking, If I made a bucket list what would be on it?

And you know what? I've already done just about everything that came to mind.
I'm a mommy, a wife and a big sister. I've had days where I'm so happy I can't stop smiling as well as days that I know have made other people happy just be doing something simple for them.

The only thing I can think of that I would really like to do is visit a Scottish Castle, but since I will never get on another airplane again...I don't see that happening. Ah, but I can visit one in cyber space. lol

On Star

I hadn't thought much about OnStar that little button in most new cars that lets you talk to someone if you get lost or need help. Then While watching an episode of COPS, I saw that the police can call onstar and tell them to turn the car off remotely. What?

OnStar can control those cars, seriously?

When you crash, they can turn the speaker on and talk to you also and call for help. But what if they just want to listen in on conversations because they are bored. You know there are always bad apples in every sort of job and I'm sure this kind of thing has happened more than once.

I was thinking and i think if I ever get a new car that has ONStar in it, I will disable it, completely take it out. I don't want someone else having the capability to remotely turn my car off, listen in on my conversations or record my conversations if they get a search warrant or a tap warrant for my car/phone.

I wonder how many times this has already happened.

A Valentine's Day Story

We all like stories, right? Well, I thought I would share one with you.

In early 1989 a girl name Melissa *not her real name* decides she's had enough of life and is going to end her's. After going to the hospital, getting her stomach pumped she is asked to sign herself voluntarily into the Psychiatric hospital where she meets John *not his real name*

John tried to end his life and ended up in the same place as Melissa. They become fast friends and after several months in the Psychiatric Hospital and lots of therapy they get out and start dating. Even though all their doctors and therapists tell them their relationship won't work, they know it will.

A year later they visit their doctor's and therapists with their newborn baby, everyone seems very happy for them but they are still afraid they might have problems with their depression.

It's now 2010 and their baby daughter is 18 years old, and the couple who met in the Psychiatric hospital have been happily together for 20 years.

You see, this is a true story...it's my and ken's story. I found my soul-mate all those years ago in the last place I ever thought I would find him. We completed each other in a way nothing else could and we've never been happier.

Keep your eyes open, your heart will find that special one you were meant to be with, even if you aren't looking for them.

Happy Valentine's Day

Spam comments

I was setting the settings for this blog the other day and saw that I could turn off the thing where people who want to comment have to ype in the word in order to comment, or people could leave anonymous comments. Well I tried that for about a week and it's not working so I'm going back to the type in the word to leave a comment and only people signed in can leave comments.

I cannot believe all the weirdos that started leaving comments and weirdo links on some of my older posts. *rolls eyes*

The PostMan

The Postman's credo..

"Neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night shall stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds,"

What ever happened to that credo?

I don't know about you but postal delivery isn't the same as it was 20 years ago, it's much worst now a days.

In the past 5 years, I've had so many problems getting my mail, not getting others mail, getting my mail to where it's going on time, mail getting lost/stolen, it's jsut ridiculous.

A few years ago I had Netflix and I would get 3 movies every week because I would get them, watch them and send them right back out. Kept things going every week. Then my movies started going missing, delivered without discs, the paper would be torn to shreds or they would just never show up at all.

Now if you 'google' missing netflix discs, you will see I'm not the only one with these types of peoblems. People are having their discs stolen and I think it was the postmen who were doing the stealing. There were jsut too many of the discs going missing. I have 8 movies go missing in 3 years. That's ridiculous. I called the psotoffice to complain and she told me it's not the post offices fault, it';s netflix's fault because their envelopes get torn all the time.

Anyway, I started watching my postman deliver the mail to my apartment complex and how he was doing it. He knew I was watching him and he didn't like it one bit. I think he decided to mess with my mail because of this. I started calling and complaining everytime he messed my mail delivery up, which was every week. My mail would either never show up, or it would end up in someone else's mailbox. When I called they actually told me, "Just take the mail you get that's not yours to the apartment it belongs to." What's the problem?

seriously?

Then the mailman I was complaining about was ransferred, fired, quit...whatever happened to him, he was gone. I thought my mail would be fine after that. I was wrong. I'm still having the same problems. Of course I don't have netflix anymore because all the missing discs got to be too much for me to handle.

But just yeasterday I got my neighbors mail in my mialbox. She's been calling and complaining too.

I mena what happens if my mail or other's mail gets put in the wrong box and they decide they want to keep it? What if it's something important?

Been raining for days

I don't know about the rest of you but I love it when we have rainy days. The overcast skies, the cool winds and the howling winds. What I don't like is the heat of the summertime, with it's 115F temps and not a cloud in the sky. I would rather sleep all day and stay up all night.

Check your phone bill

Today I received an email from "Instant 411", they said I had signed up for their service and my phone bill would have an additional 14.95 charged to it each month for their service. They had my address, phone number but it was under my husbands name and that made it weird because he doesn't use my email address.

I called their toll free number and they said Someone had signed up for it yesterday, well they are wrong. No one here signed up for this service. So I had them cancel it and block it this service from my phone number. So I can't be signed up for it again now. Hopefully. But how did they get all my info in the first place and who signed me up for this?

I think I should change all my passwords again. *sigh*

Do certain songs make you cry?

I've been listening to the radio all day while editing my articles, and I ended up having to chance the station when a particularly sad song came on. It was Travelin soldier by the Dixie Chicks. How weird is that?

I started listening to the words in the song and I was getitng depressed from it. Wow, ya know what a depressing song.

So I changed the channela nd put on some Disturbed. lol Nothing depressing about them! with their hard rocking beats and screaming in your ears, there's no way to get sad listening to them.

New things on my toolbar?

I woke up this moning and my computer was running a little slow so we ran a virus scan on it. Nothing came back. That's good, eh?

Then after it restarted I noticed that there was a new icon on my Google Toolbar. It says "share". So I clicked on it to see what it was and it says, share this page using ...and there's a list of different sites you can use. Blogger, StumbleUpon, FaceBook, Twitter, Gmail, Digg..ect...

I've heard good things about StumbleUpon so I decided while On CakeWrecks.com I would click on the StumbleUpon icon.

It took me to the StumbleUpon site and I decided to sign up for an account. Then it asked if I wanted to install the toolbar, whcih I didn't so I don't have a new toolbar just a little stumbleupon icon on my toolbar next to the new "share" button.

Anyway, I clicked on the stumbleUpon button again to share the cahewrecks site with others and I was able to. It said that 150 others had also added it to StumbleUpon.

So I decided to see what else I could do with stubleupon. I went to one of my articles, the latest one and clicked the Stumble button. I was able to add it. Now lets see it I get more traffic to my article because of doing this. That would be super cool if that actually happens.

How do You See Yourself?

I feel like the grumpy old lady down the street and I'm only 39 years old!

I was told on numerous occasions by people in my neighborhood that when they first saw me they didn't think I was approachable because of the look I have on my face most of the time.

I was told today that I seem like a curmudgeon. A curmudgeon? Seriously?

Yes, I'm a bit grumpy, I am opinionated and I am blunt at times. But a curmudgeon?

Ah, well let me get my cane, dentures, Ben-Gay, grandma sweater, and walker and see if I can chase down these youngins and teach them a thing or two about really being a grumpy ole lady. Ha!

Dog Town

If you have cable and watch The National Geographic channel, you've probably seen Dog Town.

But did you know this place called The Best Freinds Animal Sanctuary also looks after bunnies, horses, pigs, and wild animals?

http://www.bestfriends.org/atthesanctuary/animals/dogs.cfm

I really like this place ebcause they don't kill an animal just because they can't be adopted. If need be they will take care of the animal their entire lives. They took in some of the dogs from the dog fighting ring that Michael Vick was a part of.

It's probably one of the best places I've seen for animals who are in need of care, re-homing, and saving.

Been a hard week

I haven't been around to write much here because my mom's dog died and she's been pretty upset. Bootsie was 17 years old and he died on the 25th at 4 am. My mom woke up and he was laying next to her on his pillow. She said she just looked over at him and knew he was almost gone. She picked him up and he took his last breaths as she held him.

I found a place here in town that will pick him up, take him back and cremate him, put his ashes in a small wooden box with his name engraved on it and bring the box back to her in 1-2 weeks. They were so nice to my mom on the phone and when the young man came out to pick bootsie up.

Technology and young idiots.

I was visiting a site I usually go to once a day and they said they were having problems with people stealing the stuff off their website so they might have to take down the RSS feeds. Well people started whining and saiying they would Have to leave and not come back if they did that. Mostly because they go through their days reading the stuff from teh RSS feeds on their Ipods, balckberry's, or other handheld devices.

What they could be doing is waiting until they get home and seeing the whole site on a regular sized computer but since these whiney assed people have gotten so used to instant gratification and needing everything right now, they whine and complain about it instead.

Technology has come along way since I was a kid and now we can have boiling water in less than a minute, cook a full meal in a bag in the microwave in 5 minutes, pop popcorn in a bag in the microwave in 3 minutes, text friends and family instantly, swipe a credit card instead of writing a check, buy products online with just a few clicks of a mouse and all sorts of other things.

But what would happen if the power went out in a city for more than a few minutes? What would happen if the power went out in let's say a large city like Texas for a whole month because the grid was knocked out because ogf an earthqake, flood, sink hole or other mother nature related incident?

All hell would break loose, that's what would happen. Kids these days don't even know how to build a fire and cook food over it that's not instantly done, they wouldn't ahve their internet, blackberry's, wouldn't be able to talk to anyone without actually walking down the street and talking face to face with someone. How would they get water, warmth, food? How would they pay for things when all their money is in a bank ATM they can't get at? How would social security get people their social security checks to direct deposit when the electricity is down?

Technology has it's advantages, but we need to teach our kids how to live without it too. Just in case of an emergency.

Favorite childhood memory..

We all have them but do we really ever think about them? I have a younger brother whom I grew up with, he's 2 years younger than me and when we reminess about our child hood he see's things differently than I do and when I listen to him talk about an instance I an get another take on a memory that I had. It's sometimes stange to be able to see the same time period through someone else's eyes, we both saw or felt the same thing but we remember it a little differently and it makes for a really interesting conversation between us.

I was telling my younger brother that my favorite childhood memory is the firs time I remember holding him in my arms, sitting on a large rock down by the ocean and my dad taking a picture of us. If you can't tell I love my brother very much, have always been very close to him.

I used to keep that picture of us in my wallet up until a few years ago. He didn't beleive me so when I pulled it out of my wallet and saw the shock on his face, well it almost brought tears to my eyes.

The thing is, he said he remembered it too even though I was only about 4 years old and he was about 2. he said he remembed being cold, because it was winter time and that he liked his jacket. lol

Michael Vick

I just saw on tv that Michael Vick is going to have a documentanry on tv about himself or his life or whatever. No one should watch it. Instead write, phone and email the station to tell them how much you think this is incredibly not right.

Michael Vick is the football star who was caught with dogs in in place and dog fighting was going on. He went to jail, got out and got his football career back. Many of the poor dogs went to a place called "DogTown" Which has a show on animal planet where you can actually see the damage done to these dogs and it's horrifiic.

I thought that places like football teams had codes of conduct for their players and if they did something this heinous they wouldn't be able to play again. I guess I was wrong. All they are thinking about is how much money Vick is going to bring in being back. Shame on them.

In my opinion, Vick should have lost his career, all the money he made from said career and should never be able to get endorsements or play football again. What he did was awful and now there's going to be a documentary about him. Who cares about Michael Vick, I certaintly don't. He should have been booed off the field when he came back.

Have you ever...

There are many things I haven't done. So have you ever....
Gone bungee Jumping?
Flown in an airplane?
Sang in a choir?
Had a child?

I've never been bungee jumping, I mean I would ahve to get all the way up to where you jump off in order to do that? Why the heck would I do that? I'm to afraid of heights to jump off anything. lol

I have flown in an airplane 3 times. never again. The first time I was about 5 years old and my lil brother was 2 years old, all I remember is him crying the entire time. The next tow times I was with hubby and our daughter who was a toddler. We had air turbulence and I'm a big girl so the seat belt didn't fit all the way around me in order to actually click into place. So if we had been in any really bad turbulance I would ahve hit the ceiling. Yeah, sounds like fun to me...NOT!

I have sang in a choir. I was in the school choir from 5th grade to 12th grade. It was the best time in my life. We went to hospitals and sang for the little kids who were sick.

I do have one child. A daughter who is now 18 years old. Wow, when did I get to be so old?

Why do I need it on?

So it's almost 2am. and I'm sitting here on the computer with my headphones on and the tv still on. My hubby comes out of the bedroom and asks why I have the tv on. I tried to explain to him that it feels weird in the living room when it's turned off. I can't feel the tv waves, the sound vibrations, the whatever the heck the tv is giving off and makes me feel better. lol

I don't know exactly what it is but it's calming to have the tv on, even though I put it on mute or just turn the sound down because I'm listeinging to my headphones. I just like it to be on when I'm out here.

So he said it's no different in here with it on than it is with it off. He trned it off and said, see, No difference.

Yeah right, I told him to turn it back on or I would because the room felt empty to me.

How weird is that?

swagbucks

Search & Win

If you haven't tried swagbucks before, what are you waiting for? You get free stuff just for doing your web searching through their toolbar or at their site. It's so easy.

Do you ever feel like you're all alone?

I ask because I remember when I was back in high school and I was so shy and would spend the majority of my time alone in the library, just reading everything I could get my hands on. But always alone and felt like no one understood me and never would.

I kept a journal of my thoughts and last year I went through my 30 different journals that I had written during that bleak time in my life and decided to destroy them all. I know what I was feeling back then and now I know why and I know how to get out of those deep, dark funks when they come along.

I don't neen anyone else reading what I was thinking and if anything ever happened to me my family might have read them and I didn't want that so I destroyed all of them.

What I didn't know then was that I was suffereing from a clinical imbalance and it cause a really bad depression in me. I also had a thyroid problem which went untreated for 20 years and that caused all sorts of depression problems for me.

Now that the chemicals in my body are finally working right I can see how easy it is to fall into a depression or get depressed and I fight every single day not to let that happen again. It must also be some sort of hereditary issue because 2 of my brothers, my mom and my sister have all tried to commit suicide and are all dealing with depression. So I'm thinking there has to be some sort of 'depression' gene in my family.

Now I think how in this morld of millions of people is it so easy for some of us to feel completely alone, like no one else in the world understand what we are feeling.

I think now that we have the internet it has really helped with depression issues because we can reach out to others without actually having to see them face to face and for alot of people talking face to face with others is harder than typing to some unknown face on the internet. It's easier to talk to people who are'nt looking directly at you and knowing that you can get up and walk away from the conversation and not talk to that person again if that's what you want to do.

It's also easier to find others who feel the same way we do, even if we think we are the only one's in the whole world who are feeling the way we are at this moment.

So whether you are depressed, shy or just feel alone. Believe me, you are not the only one feeling that way and talking to others who feel the way you do can really be helpful.

Things I like...

Family My hubby and my mother.

Family.

Here's my dad and step mother.

Crittters. Pretty much any little furry critter is cute as heck to me. Rats, hamsters, gerbils and mice, I like.

Books!
I have way over 1000 books (Mostly romance) on my three book shelves and am always adding to them. I was selling some of my books on Amazon.com but then people starting lowering the prices of the used books to 1 cent. After the gas to drive to the post office to mail it, the envelope to mail it in, the money amazon gives you for the book just isn't work the hassle. So I just keep them now.

Movies!

I love a good horror movie. I am a Vampire nut! Love anything to do with Vampires, in books and in movies. Just can't get enough of them. The last movie I watched was Avatar and it was alright, not as good as I thought it would be.

Tv shows about Vampires. lol
I used to watch Moonlight and was upset when it was cancelled. I thought it was a good show.

Food and cooking.

I love to cook and I love to eat. I have a soft spot for chocolate truffles and only get them about once a year because they are so, so rich. But so good.

I like to write about small animals and how to care for them. It's nice when I get comments on my articles that are published on Associated Content, telling me that I helped someone with their rat, or hamster.

I like music. All kinds of music. I finally figured out how to put music on my mp4 player and have't stopped since. Now I even figured out how to download songs to my computer from CD's I have and transfer songs to my mp4 player.

Right now I am loving Adam Lambert. Great oogly moogly, that man is hot as hell! He has the most beautiful eyes.

Right now onmy mp4 I have all kinds of music.
Rihanna
3 Days Grace
Disturbed
Nightwish
Esme Denters
Oingo Boingo -dead man's Paradise. Brings me back to my teenage years lol

and all kinds of others.

That's all for now. :)

Why are Tv commercials so darn loud?

I know I'm not the only one who has noticed that over the years the loudness of tv commercials has gotten louder. Because Rep. Anna G. Eshoo of California has introduced the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act (the CALM Act) in Congress in an attempt to battle excessive noise. It has yet to be passed but enough people are upset about the loudness that it has made it's way to congress.

That should tell the tv people something, maybe that we don't like what they are doing. Seriously.

I was reading different websites question and answer pages about why the commercials are so loud and have found out how and why they do it.

The people who produce and have the commercials on tv aren't allowed to let the volume go over the loudness volume in whatever we are watching right before the commercial comes on. So if we are watching a movie and in the movie somewhere there is a really loud explosion (even if it only lasts for a second), they are allowed to let the entire commercial reach the loudness level of that explosion.

They do it because they think we will look and pay attention more to the tv and what's being advertised on it when it's louder, thus they want to get out attention.

It's stupid thinking on their parts, really. I love my DVR and use it for just about every program I watch now. I can fast forward through every single commercial there is and I love that.

How long did you keep up the Christmas Decorations?

I just got the last of the Christmas stuff put back in boxes and in my closet. I had three small tree's and 8 large boxes of knick knacks to put away. lol When I started putting stuff away I was thinking to myself...I am not doing this again next year. But then I think that every year and every year I buy one more decoration and add it to the growing pile to put out and pack away.

I was not the only one though, because I saw a christmas tree in the dumpster out back...lol

How to get a free Swagbuck!

Have you heard of Swagbucks? If not you are losing free money, gifts and other really cool stuff...all for free!
For those of you that have a swagbucks account, here's what you do. Log into your account and click on "Ways to earn" it's at the top left of the page.
Then click on "Special Offers"
Then you'll see a blue box on the right hand side of the page that says, "No obligation offers" click that and scroll down to the bottom of each page and click on 'Skip"
You don't need to fill in any information and after a few pages...for me it was 6 pages, I was given a swagcode for a free swagbuck.

For those of you who don't know about SwagBucks, it's really easy. You create an account at ..
http://swagbucks.com/?cmd=home

And then start using their search bar as your searching for things online. Every once in a while, (for me it't once a day) they will give you a swagbuck right into your account. These swagbucks then accumulate and you can get free stuff. For 45 swagbucks you can trade it in for $5.00 amazon.com gift certificate. It takes less than a month of using their search bar once or twice a day to accumulate that many swagbucks. It's like getting free money for doing the searching you would be doing anyway.

You can also down load their tool bar which has the search bar in it but I usually just go right to the site and use their search bar because I don't want to download anything else to my computer.

Try it and get free stuff.

UMC Hospital In Las Vegas

I don't know how many people ahve heard about this woman who went to the emergency room at UMC and didn't know she was pregnant. She waited in the E.R. for several hours complaining about severe abdominal pain and when the other patients saw how much pain she was in they were telling the staff they she could even go in before them. After several hours and not getting seen, she couldn't take the pain anymore and went to Valley Hospital's Emergency room where the same exact thing ahppened...so she went home thinking the pain would go away...2 hours later she delivered a dead baby at home and her husband called an ambulance. Now UMC is under investigation.

I know first hand how bad the staff in the Emergency room at UMC is. A few years ago I went to my personal Doctor with a 104 temp and bad coughing and just really bad pain throughout my entire body. He gave me paper work to take to the ER at UMC and said they would call a doctor that worked at my doctors office who was on call there at that time and get me seen right away. But when I got there and showed them the paper she told me that I needed to hold onto the paper until I was seen in the back by a doctor and the wait time was a few hours. My temp had gone up to 105F and she gave me 2 tylenol and when I told ehr I hadn't been able to keep anything down she said either take them or she would tell the nurse in the back I had refused the tylenol.

I took them and sure enough 10 minutes later I vomited them right back up. She just looked at me and said nothing. I had a plastic vomit container in my lap because I was in too much pain to keep walking to the bathroom, so she knew everytime I vomited which was every 15 mintes for the 8 hours I was in the waiting room. I had been sick for 2 weeks but it got to be so bad I finally went to the doctors office.

When I was finally called in the back to see an actual doctor, I gave her the paperwork my doctor had given me and she called the doctor and he was very upset I had waited for over 8 hours to get seen. He told her what tests he wanted ordered and when she went to do the paperwork I heard on eof the other doctors asking who the hell ordered all these tests...She told him that my doctor who sent me here did. He just shook his head.

I was put on an IV, chest x-rays were taken, blood was taken and I was put on oxygen and then given a breathing treatment and after 6 more hours in the back...I was told that I had Pnuemonia and The Flu and one of my lungs was half way filled with fluid and that's why I was having such a hard time breathing. If I had waited one more day I would have needed a chest tube.

I learned a lesson that day.....I will never again go to the ER at UMC unless I call an ambulance because their staff up front as asses. The actual medical professionals in the back treating you are nice and they do what they are suppossed to but the people up front who have no real medical training are the ones who determine who gets seen next.

As many people that go to the UMC ER, you would think they would have more than 45 beds, because at any given time there are 80 or more people in the waiting room.

What's the dumbest thing you've done this month?

I was gonna say what's the dumbest thing you've done last year, but then I'd have to much to write...lol

I ask because I did something today that was completely eye roll, hit yourself upside the head- stupid. I drove my car over to the CVS drug store just around the corner from me. It's actually just one long drive way over and through the hole in a large cement wall but I drove my car.

When I got home and put away all of the things I bought, I went to go get back in my car to go to starbucks with my guft card and get a free frappuccino and my car was gone!

I was frantic, I was sure someone had stolen it. I went inside about ready to call the police and report it stolen when I remembered that after I bought my stuff from CVS, I walked back home and left my car in the parking lot of CVS!

Sure enough when I walked outside and looked across the parking lot, there was my car right where I parked it. lol

I still don't know why I walked home.

Cancer scare.

My mom went through radiation for her throat cancer over ten years ago and she has been cancer free since then. Her mother, my granda had cancer is her ling, and breast and had a lumpectomy as well as half a lung removed and she recovered and was cancer free until she died in 1988. My family has been full of people who've had cancer and have died and my brother is sure he's going to get it one day because of all the cancer in the family.

I made up my mind along time ago that if I ever got any type of cancer I would not put myself though all those horrendous tests, or treatments. I've had enough surgeries and tests done on me, I'm done. I hate going to the doctor and I'm sure she hates me coming in because all we do is argue about what I will and won't do.

Anyway, my husbands doctor told him all the stomach problems he's been having for the past 2 years might be because of some sort of abdominal cancer and he is sending him for some tests. We go for the abdominal ultrasound on the 7th and to a Gastrointestinal specialist on the 18th. I'm sure that GI doc will have all sorts of nasty tests for hubby to take. But he's willing to go through them in order to find out what he has and he said he's willing to do any treatments to get rid of whatever it is too.

I swear, opposites attract because we have totally different views on this subject but all I can do is be there for him while he's going through all this. But I tell you, I won't have another surgery for any reason. It's just not happening and I've allready gone to a lawyer a few years ago and had a living will drawn up and put Hubby as my executor. He did the same with his and I'm his executor...just in case either of our families has a problem with anything.

The thing is while we have lived together for more than 20 years...we aren't legally married and in the state of nevada there's no common law marriage...which is ridiculous. So we had to get papers drawn up to make sure there were no problems.

Waxing

I got a flyer left on my car the other day when I went to the book store that said one of the little salons in the area are having a special on waxing, bikini as well as eyebrows.

Now I've tried plucking my eyebrows a few times and it hurt! Seriously. So Now they are au natural as is the rest of me. *giggle*

I looked online about bikini waxing and most of the sites said the first few times would hurt and afterwards it wouldn't hurt as much. I don't see how that's possible. Plus you have to lay down on a table with all your lil bits just out there for someone to see and apply hot wax too.

Now I'm not into pain and if it really hurts and I start screaming...*giggle*...I wonder if they have a large muscled man in the back that will come out and knock you out...*I don't need a black eye along with my hurt patootie*...or if she would just tell you to suck it up and keep pulling wax from you...

In the end I decided to just throw the flyer away and stay away from any hot wax.

Dreams

So I've always had some really crazy dreams, most of my life I've had nightmares and night terrors. So when I have a funny dream I have to share it because it doesn't happen all too often.

My dream last night...

I was in the bathroom putting on my makeup and this little hairless rat ran out from under the sink. He was wearing this little red and white sweater that had writing on it. It said, "I belong to dale Ernhart Jr. Please return me if you find me." And there was a phone number.

So I called the phone number and sure enough Dale Earnhart Jr was frantic that his little rattie had gotten loose again and said he would be right over. He asked me if the rat was alright and I told him that he was sitting in my arms eating a dog biscuit. There was a long silence and he asked me if the rat had bitten me when i tried to pick him up. I said no he came right over to me.

He said he would be right over.

I hear a knock on the door and he was standing there with three large pepperoni pizzas and a check for $100.00.

He looked amazed that the rat was letting me hold him and said that he doesn't usually take to strangers. The rat started kissing (licking) his face as soon as he got him and then I woke up.

lol

I think I want another rat...

The "I can see all of you" X-ray at the airlines

Have you heard about this x-ray machine? It's also called the "Whole Body Imaging" scan. Have you seen this? No? Well here ya go..

http://privacycoalition.org/stopwholebodyimaging/

This is a virtual strip search and more and more aairlnes are proposing to have them. Here in Las Vegas they are used on internation flights and I heard that other airlines are going to be getting them next year.

I plan on signing this petition to stop these virtual strip search x-rays because it really seems like an invasion of privacy to me. I can only guess at the things the people who would be looking at these screenings would be saying to one another or to their family members after work. And what happens to the imprint after you go on your merry way onboard the airline? Is it stored in a data base for others to look at and laugh?

I will never, ever fly on a plane again regardless of the use of this machine. With so many problems popping up with the airlines, I think people should boycott the airlines until they get their shit together.

I just wanna know...

What's up with the Im, chat, texting or emails instead of an actual phone call or handwritten letter?

You know what made me think of this? I used to write letters all the time, and then we got a computer and now I write letters jsut to the people who don't have a computer. I still call my mother almost everyday and I call my brothers. My sister called me the other night and we talked...not texted.

I don't have a cell phone and I don't need one, I don't want to be texting with my family instead of actually talking to them. I used to put my Im on when I was on the computer but I got so irritated with it that I don't turn it on anymore.

I want people to have courtesy when someone is chatting with them in IM and if they want me to converse with them, do the same for me. Otherwise it's just annoying. I used to love talking to some people on yahoo Im, others, I just sent an IM now and then, cause I am not gonna converse to LOL HAHA LOL LOL :) HAHA LOL LMAO. I'm not asking for a super IQ chat here, most people know me to be a tad goofy and sometimes there is a thought inspiring chat, but I'm not a difficult person to talk to. I only ask for people not to be idiots. Is that too much to ask?

When was the last time someone under the age of 18 wrote a handwritten letter because they wanted to? Not many I'm guessing.

Fire Safe Cigarettes

My husband got to talking about how the cigarettes have changes since they became Fire safe. I don't smoke, never have so I didn't notice anything different with them. Well, except for the cussing all the time from hubby because his cigarette goes out after less than a minute if he doesn't inhale on it.

That's the big thing on these cigarettes, you either inhale alot...alot more than some people were doing before they became fire safe, or your cigarette goes out and you have to relight it.

I was doing some research online about these cigarettes and found out that in order to make them fire safe, they had to use chemicals that have harmful proven side effects.

People are coughing more, getting headahes, light headed and sick to their stomaches just to name a few.

I don't think most people know that there are chemincals used in these new fire safe cigarettes than are more harmful now. Even the glue they use to seal the cigarette was changed and now has more chemicals in it to make the cigarette fire safe.

How crazy is that?

Now people who used to light a cigarette and for the most part just hold it in the hand and take the occasional puff...are having to take a puff every minute in order to keep it from going out...Does that sound like it's safer for people as well as being fire safe? I think not.

Great gifts..

This year I got great gifts but the best was having my entire family over for christmas dinner. That and the fact that everyone got along..lol

This year I received gift cards to:
Starbucks
Borders Books
Visa gift card
iTunes
and bath stuff, scarf and I bought myself a bunch of books with the points I turned into amazon.com gifts cards from the survey websites I have been taking surveys from all year.

My daughter got a huge surprise this morning when a neighbor came over with a brand new 10 speed bicycle for her. The neighbor had bought it because she thought she was going to lose her driverse licrense when she got a ticket, but when she went to court she got her license back and didn't need the bike. So she just gave it to my daughter. How nice was that?
